High temperature solenoid valve is a valve used in high-temperature fluid pipelines to achieve automatic control of high-temperature fluids. Its selection directly affects the safety of the entire production and life. So, how to choose a safe and reliable high-temperature solenoid valve?
To choose a reliable product, the material of the product is particularly important. The material selection for key components includes valve body material, seal material, coil enameled wire material, etc.
1. Valve body material: Common materials for solenoid valve bodies include cast iron, cast steel, and stainless steel. For commonly used high-temperature solenoid valves, in most cases, we recommend using stainless steel material, but stainless steel materials are divided into 304, 316, 316L, etc. Below, we will discuss the common stainless steel materials and temperature ranges:
(1) 304 material: It can withstand temperatures up to 800 degrees without any problem, so many technicians who design solenoid valves believe that using 304 material at 800 degrees is safe and reliable. Actually, it's not the case because solenoid valves are pressure pipeline components, and 99.99% of valves work under pressure. If subjected to a high temperature of 800 degrees Celsius and then subjected to pressure, the mechanical properties of 304 stainless steel will definitely be greatly reduced. Therefore, we suggest that as the valve body material for solenoid valves, 304 stainless steel can only withstand temperatures up to 500 degrees Celsius. As the pressure increases, the safe adaptation temperature will greatly decrease.
(2) 316 (L) material: Due to the relationship between temperature and pressure, we recommend using it within 700 degrees Celsius. As the pressure increases, the safe use temperature decreases.
(3) 310S material: The material itself has a temperature resistance of 1150 degrees. Considering the relationship between temperature and pressure, we recommend using it generally within 900 degrees. The safe use temperature decreases with the increase of pressure.
2. Seal material:
(1) Nitrile rubber: within 80 degrees
(2) Fluororubber: within 150 degrees Celsius
(3) Polytetrafluoroethylene: within 200 degrees Celsius
(4) Pan Gen: 500 degrees
(5) Copper: 800 degrees
3. Coil enameled wire
The coil enameled wire must be of high temperature type and must be made of all copper. In high temperature applications, the coil must be raised and heat sinks must be installed to prevent high temperature sensing of the coil, which may cause the coil to burn out.
Chongqing Kaiborui Valve specializes in producing high-temperature solenoid valves, with a maximum temperature of up to 800 degrees.
